Job Title: Kitchen Steward (Dishwasher)

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Local Supervisor

Qualities: Well Organized, Personable, Willingness to Learn, Mature, Responsible, Team Player, Punctual.

Job Summary:

The Kitchen Steward (Dishwasher) will deep clean and maintain the kitchen as well as the supplies and equipment.

The Kitchen Steward will adhere to all policies and procedures of Ace Staffing. Adherence to all unique local hotel policies is also required. The prep cook is expected to work independently under the direction of kitchen management and the local Ace supervisor.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following items:

  • Able to perform repetitive work.
  • Load dishwasher with dirty dishes as needed.
  • Follows proper scraping, sorting and stacking procedures to minimize breakage.
  • Ensure the dishwasher machine is cleaning properly.
  • Stack and store dishes properly in their assigned areas.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, dumpster and back of house areas as needed.
  • Clean walls as needed.
  • Inspect and refill paper towels, and hand soap at all wash basing throughout the kitchen and in restrooms as needed.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen during meal periods as need or as directed by a kitchen supervisor.
  • Removes trash from assigned areas at appropriate times or as directed by a kitchen supervisor.
  • Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by kitchen supervisor.
  • Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment.
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work all shifts and holidays.
  • Able to multi-task in a high paced environment.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work in hot environment.
  • Keep a clean and tidy workstation.
  • Be able to self-motivate.
  • Able to follow written or verbal instructions.
