Job Title: Convention Services Set-Up

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Local Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Convention Services Set-Up position is responsible for assisting in the set up and break down of conference rooms according to event orders as well as maintaining the cleanliness standards for equipment and meeting rooms. The Convention Services Set-Up will assemble and arrange conference equipment in conference rooms per event requirements. Disassembling conference rooms at appropriate break down times is also required.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following items:

  • Able to perform repetitive work.
  • Able to lift, push, bend and pull while loading or unloading conference and banquet tables weighing up to 70 pounds while assembling and disassembling conference room sets.
  • Must be able to put risers into place each weighing 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to move 100-pound stacks of chairs to and from storage areas, which can be in excess of 200 feet away from function room.
  • Must be able to lift a variety of chairs and tables to storage areas placing them in the appropriate section.
  • Walking and pushing a 30-pound refresh cart to specific rooms and break stations.
  • Maintain conference equipment by checking all aspects of equipment requiring bending and kneeling to floor level to check legs on chairs, tables and other equipment.
  • Able to work all shifts and holidays.
  • Able to multi-task in a high paced environment.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work in hot environment.
  • Assist in maintenance/housekeeping of all common areas as designated by hotel supervision.
  • Be able to self-motivate.
  • Able to follow written or verbal instructions.
